Lorraine Spillane

Therapist

I hold a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Psychology with The Open University and have recently completed a master’s degree in Psychodynamics at the University of Essex, Colchester.

Alongside my academic training, I have over 25 years of experience working with children and families, including working as a nanny and within school settings. Throughout my career, I have gained experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Autism, developing an understanding of the individual needs and experiences of each child.

During my clinical placements as part of my master’s degree, I gained experience working therapeutically with adolescents experiencing trauma and emotional difficulties, as well as working with families. This experience strengthened my understanding of how a young person’s emotional wellbeing can be influenced by their relationships, family experiences and wider environment.

I am passionate about helping children and young people feel seen, heard and understood, and about creating a safe, accepting space where they can express themselves in ways that feel comfortable and meaningful to them.
